The Lotus Elite (Type 14), produced from 1957 to 1963, was the world's first fibreglass monocoque production car. Powered by a Coventry Climax 1.2-litre engine, it combined stunning aerodynamics with a featherweight chassis to dominate its class at Le Mans.
