Lotus Elite

The Lotus Elite (Type 75), produced from 1974 to 1982, was Lotus's ambitious move into the GT market. A 2+2 coupe with a fibreglass body bonded to a backbone chassis, it featured the Lotus 907 slant-four engine and offered a level of refinement new to the marque. It was the basis for the Eclat and later the Excel.
